Deanwood Day is a vibrant celebration of the neighborhood’s rich history, bringing together neighbors and friends at the conveniently located Deanwood Community Center in Northeast. As the premier event for community discovery, Deanwood Day shines a spotlight on local, minority-owned businesses and vendors. With activities and attractions for everyone, it’s a day you won’t want to miss.
RECREATION
Explore the wide range of youth and adult sports, along with non-traditional recreational activities available to Ward 7 residents. Connect with coaches and program administrators offering everything from rugby and wrestling to water polo and fitness programs.
EDUCATION
Discover the wealth of educational resources available to students. Connect with educators, administrators, tutors, and after-school program directors dedicated to helping our children achieve greater success from Pre-K through high school. Explore opportunities for youth aged 16 to 24 who aspire to complete high school and pursue careers in trades such as construction, real estate, culinary arts, and more.
POLITICS
Engage with your Ward 7 elected officials and make your voice heard. Participate in discussions, ask questions, and discover how you can drive change through voting, attending neighborhood commission meetings, testifying at hearings, and joining the Deanwood Citizens Association.

Media Release Waiver
By submitting this registration form, I confirm my voluntary participation in the 2024 Deanwood Day event. I acknowledge that my participation, or that of my child(ren) under 17 years of age (if applicable), is undertaken at my own risk. I accept full responsibility for any personal harm or injury that may occur.
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the 2024 Deanwood Day, I, for myself, my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns, hereby release, discharge, and agree not to hold liable the Deanwood Citizens Association, the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, and all event sponsors, supporters, and committee members from any and all claims for injury, illness, death, or damage to or loss of personal property that may arise from my participation in the event. This includes any harm resulting from the negligence of other participants.
Furthermore, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Deanwood Citizens Association, the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, and all event sponsors, supporters, and committee members from any claims, demands, actions, costs, and expenses (including attorney fees) arising out of or in connection with my participation in the 2024 Deanwood Day. I also grant permission for myself and my child(ren) (if applicable) to be photographed and video-recorded during the event. I consent to the unrestricted use of these photographs and recordings for publication, promotion, or advertising in any medium.
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THE 2024 DEANWOOD DAY RELEASE FORM AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS AND MEANING. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A COMPLETE RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY.
