Brian Glover | President

Brian is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. Brian graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts High School in 1993 and received his Bachelor of Professional Music Degree from Berklee College of Music Boston, MA in 1996. and Master of Education Degree at Loyola University Baltimore, MD in 2012.

Brian is a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in SE Washington, DC. Brian is a Vocal Music Teacher and Chorus Director at Barack Obama Elementary School in the Prince George's County Public Schools Systems. Brian has been teaching music for 24 years.Brother Brian volunteers at Howard County Detention Center every 4th Sunday with Local A.M.E. Ministers bring men to God through music. Brian is The Elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ( ANC 7C01) in Deanwood. Also, a member of the ANC Rainbow Caucus.

Patricia Stamper | Vice-President

Patricia is a strong-willed woman who firmly believes in building community from head to toe. She is very passionate about keeping her neighborhood clean and has adopted her block along with a nearby alley. Along with three of her neighbors Patricia created "Heart And Sole," a community-based initiative that supports unhoused Ward 7 residents one Saturday a month. Patricia has a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies from Washington Adventist University and a Master of Public Administration degree from Strayer University located in Washington DC.

Jennifer Stecklow (She/Her) | Treasurer

Jennifer Stecklow is a dedicated educational enthusiast and the current Director of Operations at All Ages Read Together (AART), based in Deanwood, Washington, D.C. With over 20 years of experience in the educational technology sector, Jennifer has a proven track record of developing innovative solutions that drive organizational success and enhance learning experiences. Throughout her career, she has led transformative projects, from coaching university faculty to adapt to virtual learning environments to establishing a thriving customer education program for a major ed-tech company. At an educational startup, she was the first strategic hire, responsible for building the operational, product, and business foundations necessary for growth. In her current role at AART, Jennifer ensures smooth operations, allowing her team to concentrate on nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

Jennifer's expertise lies in operations management, design thinking, strategic goal planning, and instructional design. She holds a Master of Science in Instructional Technology and Design with Distinction from California State University, Chico, and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts - Technology Track. In addition to her professional achievements, Jennifer is deeply committed to her community, serving as the Treasurer for the Deanwood Citizens Association and Co-Chair for Economic Development. Her volunteer work reflects her dedication to fostering growth and improvement within her community.

Alice Chandler | Reporting Secretary

Alice Chandler is a writer, educator, and grant specialist with a deep expertise in local history. She has crafted educational materials and grants for notable institutions including DC public schools, The Smithsonian, and the National Park Service. Alice played a key role in establishing 15 original trail markers in the Deanwood community. Her educational background includes certifications in Secondary Social Studies and Special Education, alongside a B.A. in Sociology and History from Howard University and an M.A. in Special Education from the University of the District of Columbia. Alice has also completed coursework at Georgetown and Trinity Universities, focusing on American History. She has volunteered extensively, particularly with agencies supporting older residents' employment, and has served in elected positions while coaching local candidates for office.

Brandon McCain (He/Him/They) | Corresponding Secretary

Brandon McCain, originally from Norfolk, Virginia, has been a resident of Washington D.C. since 2013 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He is a dedicated and dynamic professional with over a decade of experience in customer service, non-profit program management, and marketing. As the visionary Founder of BAM Creations Management, Brandon leverages his multifaceted expertise as a Marketing Consultant and Content Manager.

Brandon's entrepreneurial spirit is evident through his work at BAM Creations Management where he has developed award-winning campaigns that earned his client, an attorney, several accolades including Coastal Virginia’s Best Law Firm and Best Minority Owned Business. His innovative website designs have generated over $65,000 in product sales for his clients, and he successfully redesigned the Deanwood Citizens Association website to better serve the community. One of his notable initiatives, the annual Berkley Grocery Gift Card Giveaway, has raised over $25,000 to support low-income families.

In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Brandon brings his strategic acumen to his role as a Program Manager at FLEX Academies, where he oversees operations and achieves high enrollment rates through the development of engaging youth enrichment courses. His leadership and dedication extend to his role as Corresponding Secretary for the Deanwood Citizens Association, where he also co-chairs the Web Development and Technology Committee.

Brandon's career highlights include his tenure at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), where he became the first Black and male Marketing and Outreach Manager for several prestigious fellowship programs. His leadership in marketing and communications initiatives has successfully connected and recruited graduate schools from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) into various early-career research and science policy fellowship programs, fostering greater inclusion and diversity in scientific research.

Leron Douglas (he/him)| Sergeant at Arms

Leron Douglas (he/him) brings a wealth of diverse professional experiences and a strong commitment to community service to his role as the Sergeant at Arms for the Deanwood Citizens Association. Based in Washington, DC, Leron works for a union contractor responsible for maintaining WMATA traction power and fiber cables. He studied computer science at Mississippi Valley State University, Leron’s career trajectory has been both varied and impactful.

Leron’s professional journey includes a five-year tenure in the Navy, where he served as Navy police and earned several medals. Following his discharge in 2006, he transitioned into roles such as a security supervisor and a case manager for Section 8 housing in Prince George's County, where he worked for five years. His experience also includes a stint as an assistant manager at Foot Locker and a decade-long volunteer mentorship at Higher Achievement.

Currently, Leron excels as an industrial electrical installation expert with a specialization in installing EV chargers. He holds a Journeyman Electrical license in Maryland and is on track to obtain his DC Electrical Master License. His certifications include EV charger installation from NECA, OSHA 30, and confined space training. Leron is actively involved with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26 and the D.C. Bicycle Advisory Council, where he serves as the Ward 7 representative.

Passionate about transportation advocacy, Leron co-chairs the DCA Web Committee and chairs the Transportation Committee. He also serves on the DC Major Crash Task Force. Outside of his professional endeavors, Leron enjoys exploring DC’s museums, restaurants, and libraries by e-bike and roller skating. He volunteers on weekends to repair bicycles and aims to obtain certification to teach bicycle repair and riding.
