Back-2-School Show Drive organized by Deanwood Deli
Join Deanwood Deli's annual Back to School Shoe Drive, helping East of the River Youth in Washington, DC. Taking place on August 18th at MLK Deli and August 25th at Deanwood Deli, the event aims to provide 1,000 pairs of shoes, school supplies, uniforms, and hygiene kits to local students. Last year, over 600 pairs of shoes were distributed! Get involved by donating supplies or making an online contribution to support this important cause and help prepare our youth for the upcoming school year.
Chuck Brown Day 2024
Join DPR on August 17th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM for the largest summer celebration of Go-Go music in DC. Experience the vibrant music and rich history of DC culture at this special annual event. Enjoy live performances from local bands and talent, and be part of a cherished tradition that celebrates the legacy of Chuck Brown.
Ward 7 Back-2-School Drive organized by DC State Board of Education and Partners
Join the 4th Annual Ward 7 Back to School Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway on Saturday, August 17th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 3925 Minnesota Avenue NE, Washington, DC. Hosted by the D.C. State Board of Education, this event offers free backpacks, school supplies, food, and uniform vouchers to help local youth prepare for the school year. Registration is required for participation.
Back-2-School Backpack Drive organized by Alph Sigma - Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Join Phi Beta Sigma's Annual Back to School Backpack Drive & Block Party on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 119 Division Ave NE, Washington, DC. Enjoy music, food, free backpacks, school supplies, and haircuts for local youth. Registration is required to receive a backpack and haircut. Help us support the community and ensure students are ready for the new school year.
Deanwood Day 2024
