About The Committee
The Education and Scholarship Committee is a vital part of the Deanwood Citizens Association (DCA), dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities and addressing educational matters pertinent to Deanwood residents. We support students in their academic journeys by striving to create opportunities for educational advancement and provide financial assistance through our scholarship program for Deanwood residents preparing to attend college or already enrolled.
What We Focus On
Support Local Schools
Advocate for resources and improvements in Deanwood schools.
Foster strong relationships between schools, parents, and the community to enhance educational outcomes.
Collaborate with Deanwood schools, educational institutions, and community organizations to provide enriching programs and activities.
Scholarship Program
Administer a scholarship program that offers financial assistance to Deanwood residents preparing to attend college or already enrolled.
Ensure scholarships are accessible to a diverse group of students, fostering higher education aspirations.
Promote the scholarship program and assist candidates with the application process.
Student Empowerment
Offer guidance and resources to help students excel academically.
Engage with students and parents to understand their educational needs and offer appropriate support.
Encourage academic excellence and community involvement among Deanwood youth.
